Here is how to install Python on Ubuntu 20.04 in under two minutes:

Step 1 - Update the package list on your system

The first step is to update the package list on your system before proceeding to actual installation:

sudo apt update -y

apt update downloads the package lists from the repositories and updates them to get information on the newest versions of packages and their dependencies. It will do this for all repositories and PPAs.

Step 2 - Install Python 3.10

Now, install the python3.10 package:

sudo apt install python3.10

That’s it

Now, Python 3.10 is installed on your system. To make sure everything is all right, run the following command to check the python version:

python3 --version

Or create a python script and run it using the following command:

python3 file.py
